In the summer of 2022, Jürgen Drews announced his retirement. The main reason for this decision is his health. The 77-year-old suffers from peripheral polyneuropathy, a nerve disease, and the effects of aging also took a heavy toll on “Uncle Jürgen.” At Florian Silbereisen’s (41) show “Der große Schlagerabschied” (The Big Schlager Farewell) in January 2023, held in his honor, the “King of Mallorca” took to the stage one last time.

Now, he and his wife, Ramona Drews (49), have been living a quiet life in their house in Münsterland for several months, where he is enjoying his retirement. The pop singer has also made financial provisions for this. Because his pension isn’t exactly very high.
