Chuck started the slow process of remodeling the home. One day, while rebuilding the floor in a room where a beam had collapsed, he noticed something surprising. Under the old floorboards, he discovered a concealed wooden door. Surprised, he reflected, “This must have been here for years and I never noticed it.”

Curious, Chuck opened the door to discover a ladder leading to a small, dusty basement room. Inside, he discovered tables covered in drawers and linens, and while exploring, a gold ring dropped out of one of the drawers. Chuck was surprised to discover it was a big gold ring, one of several hidden riches in the chamber. He uncovered a variety of jewels and antique goldsmithing tools.
After the improvements were completed, the house looked gorgeous while retaining its original character. “Wow, this place feels like a museum!” his best friend said upon seeing it.
Chuck was inspired and determined to turn his home into a museum. Word traveled rapidly, and visitors from all over came to see one of the city’s oldest structures. Chuck knew he’d made the correct decision when he saw people taking photos in front of his house.
Chuck met Jenny, a woman from a nearby town, on one of the tours. They began dating, and she soon moved into the house with him.
