🔍 What the “new angle” video shows

• Newly released footage from a protest on January 13 in Minneapolis, 11 days before Pretti was shot dead, shows him in a tense physical interaction with federal immigration agents. The video was obtained by The Independent and others.

• In that clip, Pretti kicks out the taillight of a federal vehicle and is immediately surrounded and tackled to the ground by several armed agents.

• After subduing him, agents then deploy gas/pepper spray into the crowd of protesters and leave the scene without making an arrest, despite visible property damage.

• Pretti appears to be released and gets back up, at which point the earlier encounter ends. No charges were filed then.

This earlier interaction was widely shared as evidence of federal agents’ aggressive tactics and that Pretti had been physically targeted in a prior encounter.
