Trump explains reason for bruise on hand after new pictures spark concern

“They say take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising. I take the big aspirin.”, he explained.

According to Reuters, Trump added: “The doctor said, ‘You don’t have to take that, sir. You’re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not taking any chances.’”

As per White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt — who is currently pregnant with her second child — the president hit his hand on the corner of a table during yesterday’s signing ceremony.

According to Harvard Health, taking low-dosage aspirin does indeed make you more susceptible to bruising.

On the website, Dr. Deepak Bhatt explained: “Aspirin decreases the ability of tiny cell fragments in the blood, called platelets, from clumping together and forming clots. Preventing these clots will help you avoid a repeat heart attack. But it can make you bleed a little more easily, including the below-the-skin bleeding seen in bruises.
