These spots appear especially when melanin production (the skin’s natural pigment) becomes irregular. The sun stimulates melanin production, but over time, the melanin accumulates in certain areas, forming these flat, brown spots of varying sizes. We often see them on our hands because we forget to protect these areas, even though they are exposed to the sun daily.
The natural aging process also plays a role. The skin becomes thinner, more sensitive, and regenerates less effectively. While this isn’t dangerous in itself, if a spot changes (shape, color, texture), it should be examined.
