A deadly fire took place in a bar in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The risks of such an accident having already been identified, as evidenced by a video filmed during a former New Year’s Eve party.
On December 31, 2025, to celebrate the New Year, many people went to the Constellation, a night bar located in Crans-Montana, a posh Swiss ski resort. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a festive evening turned into a tragedy. As a reminder, a fire took place, causing no less than 40 deaths and nearly 120 injuries. According to the first elements of the investigation, the building caught fire because of Bengal fires (pyrotechnic candles that often accompany bottles of alcohol in bars and nightclubs, editor’s note) which came into contact with acoustic foams, a highly flammable material. This is all the more regrettable as the danger had already been identified by a member of staff.
